About Us

After years of dreaming about opening a restaurant, it finally came to reality on July 4th, 2008.  Nick Tsalikis finally opened Greek Islands Grill.  Just from the name you can tell that Nick is no stranger to anything Greek, including the food.  Nick is not only the owner/manager but the cook, so you can rest assurre you will receive only the best.  His wife, Irene, is a teacher by day but she helps out whenever she can.

Nick moved to Arizona from Toronto, Canada, October 2000 where he used to work in restaurants and managed plush night clubs.  He wanted to get away from the night club scene so he had an opportunity to move to Arizona where he was taken in by a Greek Orthodox Monastary.  Nick spent a year and a half doing missionary work at the Monastary until he was ready to get back to the restaurant world.

His first job since arriving to Arizona was managing a Greek Restaurant in North Scottsdale.  After the restaurant closed down, he managed a medical building in East Mesa for about five years, however, he felt the corporate world was not for him and decided he really wanted to open a Greek Restaurant.

Greek Islands Grill specializes in the Gyro sandwich, the Chicken and Pork Kebobs, refreshing Greek salad, and for desert, Baklava or Honey Fried Bread.  However, the Philly Cheese Steak is also "Out of this world".
